The Pendrakes - Playing “sugar sweet pop licks with maximum ampage and minimum pretense”, their new recording, Sunday Punch also finds them venturing into country/Americana, swing and 70’s flavored R & B. In years spent on the Minneapolis music scene, Paul Novak has shared the stage with members of Son Volt, The Replacements, and The Jayhawks. Moving to Omaha, Novak found himself musically alone for the first time in many years. As fate would have it, Omaha music veteran Eric Ebers and Novak shared a cubicle wall before finding out they also shared a musical connection in bass man Craig Meier. The trio began work on Sunday Punch in the summer of 2007. The newest Pendrake, Corey Weber, has added a hard rock punch and a little twang to the recording as well as rounding out The Pendrakes sound and turning them into a formidable live act.
