10 MP3 Songs
POP: Piano, ROCK: Jam-band

Details:
A New York city native, Everett Fox was playing and singing his songs on the piano in Soho clubs at the age of 16. By 18 he was performing his material with bands whose material varied from rock to blues-inspired pop. The incorporation of his classical music background and his love for the funk sounds of the NYC streets created the framework for his unique style.

The EVERETT FOX BAND was formed in Ithaca, NY in 1996. With the release of their CD BLACKSLEEVES, the track Sylvia was requested so often on local college radio that it was soon placed on general rotation. The Ithaca Times hailed the Fox Band as "Ithaca''s most wanted," writing "Sylvia and All Your Own are bouquets with surging arpeggios and Beatlesque turns of melody."

The release of their second album LIBERTY prompted regular radio air-play on both local and Ithaca College/Cornell University stations, as well as, a live studio performance on WVBR. The track Need To Know reached California''s WKKUP Caupertino and Europe''s Radio Marabu and Radio Ara programs. LIBERTY also received an excellent response from west coast CMJ radio promoters and the UK''s Try Acid magazine.

The EVERETT FOX BAND has played the NYC scene, appearing at such venues as The Bitter End, CBGB''s, Lion''s Den, Kenny''s Castaways, Max''s Kansas City and was one of the few live acts featured at the club Life. Currently, the band continues to play for the upstate college/university scene and are completing their newest release.

Press Comments

Chip Talmadge
Former manager Discount Records:

"Of all the new music to have passed my way, the Everett Fox Band has the talent and promise to be the next big act to influence the market."

Stu Fox
Music critic/reviewer Ithaca Times/Revolving Door magazine:

"Everett Fox is one of the finest piano players I''ve ever seen...the interplay between the three of them on stage is just incredible."

R. Aidan Johnston
Flipside Press:

"I used to live with a girlfriend of a Manic Music Freak who listened Obsessively to Everything. He had every genre, sub-genre, and non-genre-blues to punk to trip-hop, european and african, even pop-located and filed in his massive noggin under tightly curled red-brown locks. He had great taste in music and, suspicious though i was of his sanity, i came to trust his judgment about bands i normally wouldn''t have considered. If i was around when he came over we would talk about little else, to his girlfriend''s dismay. Once he got pissed off that i Hadn''t introduced him to a group, like i was intentionally keeping it from him. I was listening to The Everett Fox Band''s Liberty one afternoon and had it turned up LOUD when my housemates were out. I wasn''t vacuuming or re-arranging, just sitting in the stereo sweet spot listening at Volume. The Manic Music Freak busted in through the front door and came hurtling into the living room. "Hey man i was knocking for-what the @#$%*! is This???" "The Everett Fox Band." pause. "Holy &#$%!-have you been holding out on me?-this is %$#*-ing amazing." He wouldn''t speak to me until i told him he could borrow the disc."
