Details:
eL is a four-piece band that has been playing original melodic rock, infused with a Brit-pop influence, for over six years for local, national and international audiences. This South Florida-based indie act is characterized by outstanding vocals, driving rhythms and memorable hooks, and consistently delivers an energetic live performance.

Singer/songwriter Jeremy Clark founded the band under the name Vinyl in 1997 and released a five-song EP shortly thereafter. The follow-up album, "Here We Are Again," earned Clark industry recognition when he won the GMA Songwriter of the Year Award in 1999 for the album''s title track.

In 2003, the band recorded their first full-length, self-titled album in Nashville at the White House studio along the infamous music row. The new 10-song album-produced by Conner and mixed by Grammy Award-winning engineer, Charles Dye-showcases the band''s maturing songwriting ability and signature sound. eL is releasing the album in August through their own label, Revolution by Popular Demand Records, and is currently seeking a distribution deal.

In both 2000 and 2002, eL traveled to Europe to headline 10-date tours of Italy and Finland, respectively, and is planning to tour their upcoming album throughout the south- and northeastern U.S. and again in Europe in 2005.

The band also played two successful showcases at clubs in New York City in December 2003 at The Continental and Acme Underground that initiated discussions with several management companies.

The Palm Beach Post staff writer Bill Meredith describes the band''s music as "infectious. Originals like It''s All Over and Give Me a Feeling ... are at once melodic and muscular, mixing Brit-pop from The Cure to Radiohead and Seattle sounds from Nirvana to Paul Westerberg." In his weekly "Local Scene" column for the Miami-based Sun Sentinel, Jason Knappel characterized eL''s music as follows: "They partake in the post-Bends era Radiohead scramble for Brit-pop supremacy, but they are distinctly American."

Influences include U2, Radiohead, Oasis, Coldplay, The Strokes and Interpol.

QUOTES:

"The debut album by West Palm Beach-based El reveals why so much local buzz has been heaped on the group and why it may be the best thing to come out of West Palm Beach since ... hmmm ... I''ll have to get back to you on that. Anyway, singer-guitarist Jeremy Clark proves to have an ear for a catchy tune and a thoughtful lyric, and from the moment the drums and bass kick in on opener "Stars (Fall From Your Eyes)," you''ll realize why this group has generated, deservedly so, the attention it has."

"Jeremy Clark, eL''s singer/guitarist, is the best unsigned songwriter I''ve ever worked with. And I''ve been fortunate enough to work with some the greatest."

Charles Dye -- Multi-platinum Grammy-winning Engineer/Mixer/Producer (Carole King, Lauryn Hill, Diane Warren, Desmond Child)

"eL might just be South Florida''s Rock and Roll Saviors. Whatever their inspiration, eL produces tunes that have a universal rock appeal. If you like rock, you''ll be attracted to ditties like the lead song, "Stars" (fall from your eyes)"

"Britpoppers eL push the right buttons; dripping with urgency and anthemic in its musical scope, this West Palm Beach band would sound at home in a stadium setting."

"My first eL concert experience was nothing short of mesmerizing. eL delivers music that is consistent and powerful. The album just might hook you, although it''s their live shows where they truly shine."

There is a lot more to their sonic signature than Beatlesque melodies and Greenwood-inspired guitar layers. There is also a definitive American attitude more akin to Cheap Trick than Oasis.

EL has "extraordinary showmanship and energy. Totally awesome musicianship with a total professionalism that is awe-inspiring." "El is a band that will sell tickets, pack your venue to the walls, and make your customers so happy; they''ll be back for more. You can''t hire a better group of professionals. They will make you proud."

Robert Metzgar - Capitol Management - Hall of Fame Producer
