Electric Jesus has gathered a wealth of experience by performing both in studio and stage in the Bay Area and across the nation.
Leading this band on vocals is Michael Garcia who has been in the local music scene for over 15 years. As a front man for the successful modern rock bands, The End and Severance, Michael has won enthusiastic support throughout California for his commanding voice, insightful lyrics and enigmatic stage presence. With Electric Jesus, this talented singer has fully evolved into a polished and professional performer with a unique style. His multi-faceted skills fully compliment this exceptional line up of talented players.
Guitarist Richard Williamson continues his long-standing collaboration with his good friends Matson and Garcia. He first worked with Michael Garcia in the high-profile band, The End. In the late eighties, their success was exemplified by well-received shows and regular airplay on alternative radio station, LIVE 105.3FM. Subsequently, Richard and bassist Eric Matson started the band Smile, while the project was short lived; the material created therein formed the foundation of the powerful Electric Jesus sound. Now reuniting with Garcia in the role of lead guitarist for Electric Jesus, Richard''s guitar playing and composition are key elements to the force that is Electric Jesus.
On bass, Eric Matson provides the heartbeat of Electric Jesus. His enduring presence in the local music scene has provided the springboard for his successful and intimate working relationship with his band mates. This work is a major part of the foundation and stability of Electric Jesus. Equally important are Eric''s solid bass playing and enthusiasm. His artistry has been showcased in his performances with The Wynonna Riders (currently on Lookout Records) and in nationwide tours with New Red Archive''s band Jack Killed Jill.
As a band Electric Jesus strives to excel on every level of musical creation. As a live entity they are a force to be reckoned with. They are completely self-contained. Working out of Dragonfly Studios, this band has written, recorded, produced, mixed and mastered most of their own work
