Details:
92nd Street is an acoustic duo featuring Hugh Colocott and Doug Hill.
Hugh is a singer/songwriter living in brooklyn new york. He’s played in a myriad of different bands in addition to 92nd Street; notably, “The Skam”, “ME” (signed to RCA in ‘94), The band “Mackin” and “The Amber Rhodes’ Band” as well as playing as a solo artist.
Doug is a singer/songwriter living in swarthmore, pa. His first band was “Jesse West & The Southern Breeze”, followed by “The Page” and then has played as a solo artist in and around the philly area.
Hugh and Doug met through their then girlfriends, Alice and Sarah, who worked together in the same architectural firm in the late ‘80’s. After seeing each other play in their respective bands (the skam and the page) they decided to do a side acoustic project for fun. Their musical chemistry was so enjoyable, they quickly became good friends and decided to pursue the project further. At first called “psychofant”, the duo changed their name to 92nd Street several years later, based on the exit off the BQE in ny where they frequently played.
They’ve been writing songs and performing together for over 15 years.
92nd Street is a high energy acoustic duo with thoughtful, emotional, hooky originals, beautiful harmonies and great musicianship.
Both Hugh and Doug are accomplished singers, guitar players, and writers. They have played all over New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania (CBGB’s, Bitter End, Steel City Coffee house, Epicurean, The Depot and The Cutting Room to name a few)
Because of their 15 year friendship, Hugh and Doug have an obvious camaraderie; an unspoken musical connection that is clear from the very first song.
Whether in a small club, outdoor festival, or private party, 92nd Street shows are full of humor and spontaneity, making every show unique. And with each song sung the audience is drawn in more and more –
making them realize they are a part of something special.
