As a toddler, Beth was charmed by the sounds she could create at the piano. After studying informally with her father, she began formal piano lessons when she was 8 years old. By the time she was in high school, she was winning awards and placing at competitions. Beth started composing music for voice and piano at 14. She performed her first song at Bunnell High School. To date, Beth has written over 20 original pieces.
While studying music and Spanish at Temple University in Philadelphia, she taught classical piano and composition at a bilingual music school, La Asociación de Músicos Latino Americanos (AMLA). There, Beth worked alongside well-known musicians in addition to teaching Latino students of all ages. The environment at AMLA was an important stylistic influence for Beth, contributing to many of the Latin nuances in her work. Merging classical and folk elements, her songs incorporate intricate rhythms, colorful chords, and heartfelt lyrics.
Currently, Beth teaches high school Spanish and private piano in lower Fairfield County. She is a former student of Donna Breen Stamm and Dr. Joe Utterback. Beth has performed at the “NY Comedy Club, “Don’t Tell Mama’s”, and the Bitter End in New York City, Galangal restaurant in Stamford, Las Vetas in Fairfield, and The Acoustic Café in Bridgeport. She also enjoys inline skating and painting.
