Introducing Chad Higgins, a divinely inspired songwriter and musician who is no stranger to gospel music. He is an established songwriter in the Gospel Music Workshop of America and the National Convention of Gospel Choirs and Choruses (aka, Thomas Dorsey Convention). In his debut release, “He Is Who He Is”, he has a collection of soul stirring upbeat songs that mix eloquently with the slow, thought provoking songs of praise and worship. The vocals, music, lyrics, and song arrangements reflect the influences of gospel music giants Donald Lawrence, VaShawn Mitchell, Myron Butler and Richard Smallwood, just to name a few. And with those influences, he has created a “Modernized” Thompson Community Choir sound.
Chad may have been influenced by some of the giants of gospel music, but this project is produced by the phenomenal Terry Baker. (The current drummer for Kirk Franklin and former drummer for Dr. Bobby Jones). Terry’s production credits include Joe Pace’s “Sunday Morning Service”, and he has worked with Grammy Award winning producers Sanchez Harley, Kevin Bond and Danny Witherspoon. With Terry’s involvement, you are assured to received funk and soul, but yet be able to sing the songs on Sunday Morning.
In this debut project, Chad has assembled a group of talented singers known as “In Spirit & In Truth”, based out of Lexington, KY, to sing of the goodness of God and our need to honor Him. He has also enlisted help from his close friends, Minister Darrell Harris on the title track “He is Who He Is” and former Crystal Rose recording artist Rodney Posey on the track “All is Well.”
