Crystal Dawn is an up and coming songwriter-producer. She is a graduate of Grambling State University with a BA. in Radio and Television and a MA. in Liberal Arts. In 2007, she was introduced by Producer and Music Engineer Mark Hewitt to Singer Irene Sage. As a result of this meeting, Crystal was blown away by her singing and asked her to sing all of her songs that she had written on her new CD called Share My Life. Irene agreed and committed herself to this project for over a year.
Irene Sage’s Multifaceted musical talents have earned her the respect of her native New Orleans legendary predecessors like, Allen Toussaint, Dr. John, Irma Thomas and Deacon John. She has acquired the interest of thousands of fans over the 15 years of her professional career.
Her appearance in the movie documentary release Deacon John and the Jump Blues placed her along side these legendary musicians as a budding legend herself. She is well admired for her powerful rock ballads to hard driven to hard blues reminiscent of the old great classic rockers Janis Joplin, Ann Wilson of Heart with whom she shared a stage with for two nights at the famous Door on Bourbon Street. She also shared the stage that same night with Stevie Nicks of Fleetwood Mac.
Her Joplinesque singing and energetic performances surpass Joplin herself, as is repeatedly pointed out by fans and critics alike. New Orleans boasts of Irene’s talents and supports her by showcasing her as a big act in New Orleans at the Jazz & Heritage Festivals.
Denny Cordell, prior Island Records president recognized Irene’s power in the major motion picture The Pelican Brief, where Irene sang and performed two of her original tunes. This led to a 7 album deal with Island that never reached the starting line upon Denny’s death. Due to creative differences and no longer having Denny as a promoter, Irene opted out of her contract.
Now, it is 2008 and the Crystal Dawn-Irene Sage collaboration is incredible! Irene glides through Crystal''s music and lyrics as if they were her own creations. Share My Life takes you through an emotional roller-coaster about relationships, life and love. Crystal Dawn admittedly feels blessed and honored that Irene chose to lend her voice to her product. Her commitment will always be appreciated. We are hopeful that this CD will have a profound affect on all who experience it.
