Damon was born in Palmeston north New Zealand. His music is influenced by Neil Young, John Lennon, The Eagles, The Beatles, Pink Floyd, Janes Addiction and every other piece of music he''s heard along the way. He started playing the guitar at age 15. Damon''s song writing turning point came when he was in his late teens. His grand mother asked him to play something for her one Sunday Afternoon. All he could play was riffs and licks of his latest favorite bands, which she quickly grew tired of. It dawned on him the only way to really entertain, captivate and move someone would be to play his own complete songs and sing. Silent Alarm is Damon''s first full length studio album. The twelve new songs on Silent Alarm were recorded in Nashville at Pineway Studios and Damon''s recording studio. The album was produced and mixed by David Calvin Johnson and Damon Barnett, and mastered by Jim Demain (Josh Rouse, Michael McDonald, Tony Bennett, Jimmy Buffett, John Hiatt) at Yes Mastering.
