Details:
Do you know anyone who has not experienced the devil on one shoulder and the angel on the other?

This collection of songs is a journey. By enjoying the whole CD as a package with photos and a story, the listener will have a deeper experience with the music. Of course, downloading one song is always fun and practical as well. To each his own...

"Darcie Deaville provides the fiery fiddling and the wild-eyed stares that fans fear to love and love to fear."... say the Meat Purveyors.

One moment, the wildest, most abandoned and unedited music springs from Darcie''s heart to her hands to her fiddle.
Sometimes as little as an hour later, Darcie will be playing another gig, a traditional Cajun walttz, sending a sweet, soothing solo in the air.

Have you heard the saying, "The only thing better than having a fiddle in the band is having TWO fiddles in the band?" Twin fiddles have plenty of history in all types of music.

So, the twin fiddle sisters were born. Darcie''s a dreamer. Marcie, the evil twin, is a screamer. Darcie Deaville''s photo is on the front cover, and Marcie Mercy''s photo on the back.

The twins feel quite lucky to express devil and angel so easily with the fiddle.

DARCIE DEAVILLE BIO:

Darcie Deaville is the real deal. Just ask Ray Wylie Hubbard, who she plays and tours with from time to time. Check with Jimmy LaFave and Ani di Franco. Tom Paxton and Slaid Cleaves can tell you too. So can the Austin Lounge Lizards, Tish Hinojosa and the The Meat Purveyors. And while you''re at it, let John McEuen weigh in on the subject.

Simply put, Darcie Deaville is a one person tour-de-force. Her straight forward playing has graced stages worldwide. Darcie blends years of experience with a youthful exuberance that leaves audiences searching for the jaw they dropped while watching and listening to her perform.

A Toronto native, Darcie has led a gypsy-like life, living all over North America. Each new place stirring in another ingredient into her potent musical gumbo, heavily spiced with large doses of fiery fiddling. And her guitar playing can fly through the fields of bluegrass and grease the blues in a way that makes it boil and smoke.

She''s equally at home with the mandolin, octave mandolin and other stringed instruments. Straight up, Darcie Deaville is a musical powerhouse. Whether playing, writing, teaching or lending her talent to any number of sessions, Darcie delivers every time.

But it doesn''t stop there. She''s also an accomplished actor, writer, producer and musical director. In August 2001, Darcie''s own one woman musical, Tornado In Slo Mo, debuted in her home base of Austin, TX at the Hyde Park Theatre . She''s worked off Broadway in New York City. Her theatre credits include ''Cottonpatch Gospel,'' ''Always, Patsy Cline,'' ''Woody Guthrie''s American Song'', and ''Oil City Symphony''.
In January- March of 2006 Darcie played 125 shows in 82 days, visiting 60 cities in Austria, Italy, and the Czech Republic, reaching 40,000 students. "This Land is Your Land ", a play developed for the schools to educate people about Woody Guthrie and the depression years in the US, was considered by many to be the most popular show in Vienna''s English Theatre''s history. Darcie and her friends were asked to play command performances at the American Embassies in Vienna and Prague.

She''s recorded and released five CDs:
Livin'' on the Lucky Side (Taller Dog 2007)
Darcie Deaville Plays the Fiddle and Sings (Taller Dog) 2003
Tornado In Slo Mo (Redwing Music) 1999
Ways To Fly Gillman Deaville (Flying Fish Records) 1994
Last Hitchhiker on the Lost Highway (independent) 1988
And to top it all off, her book on learning to playing the fiddle called Twinkle, Twinkle Fiddle Star will be published this year.

Darcie Deaville is firmly planted in the past, the present and the future, and her roots run deep. Come then, and let Darcie lead you on her journey into uncharted artistic waters.

''[Darcie] shows a talent for songwriting and storytelling on a par with Rory Block and Mary Chapin Carpenter. Clearly, Deaville is one to watch.''
— Kerry Dexter, Dirty Linen

''Intelligent, warmly satisfying and touching. At home on an assortment of instruments, Darcie Deaville is not to be overlooked....''
— The New York Times
