In composing this Nocturne op. 133, Jadassohn sent a musical greeting to his colleague Adolf Burose, the renowned pedagogue and solo flutist at the Royal Hungarian Opera at Budapest, who with the contribution of his method for the flute is counted among the pioneers of virtuoso flute technique.
