Here you go: “Waiting for Coyote” by me, Frank. Williams. I’ve played guitar for around 20 years. In high school, I spent a summer semester at Berklee College of Music, where it was suggested (politely) that I consider (seriously) a non-musical career. I began playing slide guitar about 5 years ago, after realizing that I’d run out of ideas in standard tuning.
These are guitar jams, and nothing else. I don’t sing, and I don’t talk much. I can''t dance and I’m not that funny.
I do tend to lose myself in what I’m doing – I often drift off, or even enter half-dreams while playing.
I used two guitars, one an old Alvarez with mystical powers that never (!) goes out of tune, the other an Alvarez 12-string that willfully resists all efforts to keep it in tune. The slide was cut from the barrel of a 12-gauge shotgun that had once been issued to a prison guard in South Georgia. I’ve never noticed any bad mojo coming off the thing; it has so far been an excellent slide.
This isn’t really the blues. I love the old stuff out of Mississippi, but I love more the really old stuff out of 14th century Europe and Wales. There’s also a touch of Okinawan Shamisen music that I’ve tried to draw on a bit. Hope you enjoy it.
Enjoy, there’s more coming.
