Kenny Giacomini aka Kdawg.
Born on February 13, 1990 in Virginia. My parents, my two brothers, and I moved across the country to Nevada. My parents divorced when I was 9 then my mom, brothers and me moved to Auburn, California. My Dad later retired from the military and also moved and lives in Auburn today. I share my time between both my parents. I played high school football and 07 was my final season. My whole focus is on making music for my peers to listen to.
I started writing poetry and lyrics when I was 14, mainly just to get away from things and to escape from reality. Then I began writing and rhyming about reality and about what was going on with my life and around me. I am not like most kids, when all of my friends go out and party I stay at my house, in my room, and write about how angry it makes me. When i met Jobany at school we realized we could do something really big with our music if we got together, so it began. Recently I began focusing on flow and deeper meanings within my lyrics.
The mission of my music is to change the way things are and to actually create a positive Influence on kids and people who are not like me and spend all their weekends partying or getting drunk. Our album INFLUENCE does just that. Its purpose is to make kids and adults just listen. Listen to what we have to say and possibly think twice about the direction there lives are going. It is dedicated to those in need of a moment alone, for those who just need an influence to become or do something greater than themselves. Just listen.
Jobany Betancourt aka JB.
Born in the bay area in a town named Redwood City. I lived there until I was about 9 years old. My family moved across California close to Nevada. I have a brother, a sister, and a cousin that live with me. I was 4 years old when I started getting interested in music. My parents always had me go and sing at church activities. Later on they got me my first drum set. Through the years I taught myself how to play the piano, drums, guitar, and bass and as a freshmen in high school I joining choir. Joining choir helped my singing get much better and I got an idea on how to work with music theory. Today I play the piano and sing for my worship group at church. I plan to persue my goal as a music producer and make it my career in life.
While in high school I heard about some kid called Kdawg who was rapping and making cd’s to sell. This idea caught my ear so I went out to find Kdawg and asked if he wanted to create a song together. That became the start of Kdawg and JB. Together we made our first cd in late 07 and now just finished our 2nd cd named “Influence”. Hearing people’s positive reactions encouraged us to continue with our work.. thank you! Look for more to come. PEACE!
