Details:
Completely unique with undeniable charisma and stage presence, Kevin Yee seems intent on leaving hismark on the world. A catchy blur of pop/rock melodies, Kevin is a performer who connects with his audience like no other, and a singer/songwriter who writes from the very core of his being. The former boyband member is finally doing it his own way.

Training for ten years to become a competitive dancer, Kevin gave it all up for the chance of a lifetime. At fifteen he was chosen from hundreds of hopefuls to join the Los Angeles based boy band Youth Asylum. Under the Qwest/Warner Brothers name the group was poised for major success. Their unreleased album "We Are Young Americans" boasted such producers as Guy Roche, David Foster, and Quincy Jones. They embarked on three US national tours and were featured in magazines such as BB and Popstar (not to mention on 10,000 boxes of Cocoa Pebbles) with their music video "Jasmin" in high rotation on the Disney Channel, Nickelodeon, and The Box.

It wasn''t the first time that Kevin had found himself at the center of attention. Born in Vancouver Canada, Kevin made his professional onstage debut at the age of six in THE KING AND I starring the late Rudolf Nureyev. It was apparent even then that he was destined to become a performer as he continued to work on stage and television through his elementary years: sharing the stage with Donny Osmond in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, and dancing with Shari Lewis on a season of Lambchop''s Playalong.

It was while on tour with Youth Asylum that Kevin first picked up a guitar and started writing. When the group disbanded after three years Kevin continued to write and penned his personal favourite song 24 Hours (And I''ll Be Home). " I wrote it at a hard place in my life. I was eighteen and I had just been dropped from a label. I wasn''t sure that I really wanted to pursue music anymore. I experienced so many ups and downs with the group and had gotten the brunt of the industry at such a young age. Then I wrote 24 Hours. I don''t know where the song came from but it was my blessing. I knew the minute I wrote the song that I could and would do something different, and important with my life and with my music. I think if you can come to that conclusion after living three years of manufactured Boy band hell, then it must be meant to be."

After a year of working post boy band Joe jobs, Kevin landed a role in the all-Canadian cast of the smash hit ABBA musical MAMMA MIA! as "Pepper", a young tavern worker who falls in love with an older woman. In the spring of 2004 Kevin met Toronto based producer Marc Koecherand finally began work on his demo entitled (Kev Was Here). A mixture of rock inspired pop songs, Koecher has found a unique sound for Kevin''s heartfelt lyrics and melodies. Toting Sugababes, Robbie Williams, and Amanda Marshall as his main musical inspirations, (KEV WAS HERE) is a collection of potential mainstream radio hits.

In May of 2005 Kevin closed the Toronto run of Mamma Mia with 972 performances under his belt. The following year found Kevin busy with a number of projects including T.V. appearances in Save the Last Dance 2, TGNT Vietnamese Music Special, a Cheer True Fit commercial, and a role in the independent short film Death to Charlie. He also performed concerts at legendary Toronto venues C''est What, The Cameron House, and Free Times CAF By May of 2006 Kevin had finally finished his debut album and was cast in the Broadway Musical Mary Poppins.

Currently living in Harlem New York Kevin is starting over again. "I''m use to traveling around and moving from place to place. I''ve basically been away from home since I was 15. Now that I''m in New York it feels right. Usually I get to a city and I don''t buy any furniture or anything substantial because I don''t think I''ll be there for long. It''s different this time. Something tells me I''ll be here for a while."

As for the future, the sky''s the limit as far as Kevin Yee is concerned "I''ve learned to be proud of everything I do, all of my success'' and all my failures. It took a lot of frustration and heartbreak, but now I just take everything as a blessing in disguise, and work harder. At the end of the day I know that the only thing I''m meant to do in this world is perform. That''s what I take solace in. So it makes every challenge worthwhile " Enough said.
