Details:
My Famous Friend is Anderson’s debut recording, released November 1997. The introspective nature of the material here reveals the depth of character that would become a trademark of Anderson’s music. This all original recording is the first showcase of Anderson’s powerful voice and provocative lyrics.
My Famous Friend was nearly five years in the making. The songs on My Famous Friend were penned with Anderson''s songwriting partner, Dave Beckett. Anderson and Beckett formed a rare songwriting duo, working together for several years in the early-mid-nineties. Beckett was taken from this world early, prior to the completion of this CD. As a performing duo, Anderson and Beckett called themselves, "My Famous Friend", thus the album title.
Following Beckett’s death, Anderson considered closing the book on music altogether, but after a nine month hiatus from writing, Anderson wrote the song, "FIRE!" Anderson concluded it was upon her to complete the recording and honor the work she and Dave created
