LISA MONET RELEASES NEWEST CD OF MUSIC FOR FAMILIES
Named one of the "Five Leading Ladies of Children’s Music” by Billboard, Lisa Monet has a new CD for kids and families: Tingaleyo , a bilingual celebration of traditional songs from around the Spanish-speaking world.
Lisa Monet is a Parents’ Choice Gold Award recipient for Circle Time, her first recording of songs for families. Four albums followed: Jump Down, My Best Friend, Christmas Pie, and Chiqui Chiqui Cha, all currently being digitally re-mastered. Each CD features Monet’s pure vocals, lush harmonies, bright guitars and dancing percussion.
The independent label producing these recordings, Circle Sound Productions, is a family business: her husband Rick St. Charles, has engineered and performed on all her albums in their studio. Their daughter Genny St. Charles-Monet, Arcata Arts Institute graduate, is the graphic artist of the cover and inserts for Tingaleyo, and son Matt St. Charles, a feature films director, is the Technical Consultant for Tingaleyo.
A best-selling artist on the Music for Little People label, Monet credits local schools in her Northern California homebase for inspiring much of her material. A credentialed teacher, she travels in the Pacific Northwest area bringing bilingual music programs to schools, libraries, festivals, and concert venues.
A California native, part of Monet''s childhood was spent in Argentina and Spain, and with various trips to neighboring Mexico, she has a lively bilingual repetoire celebrating cultures and diversity.
CD release events are scheduled for the northern California area.
