As I passed puddles of pink and purple water. Painted by reflections of strange light setting, beyond blue ink hills. Children''s laughter creeping upwards towards me...lingering as I turned around to see glassy pools. Mirrors scattered across the road . Somewhere splashing, the children stamp their wellington boots. My eyes watered-widened as I looked down toward my liquorice cigarette, which had started to fall apart...Frowning behind my soaked hair, noticing the water creeping up my green patchwork flares.
I stopped to get another cigarette, from my long tailed jacket. And the rain started falling heavily as I glanced back along the looking glass road...winding though it had not before...
All along the avenue, frightening fringes of burnt charcoal trees...their twisted branches hold no leaves...
I reach an archway in the wall, several panes of light upon a door...I stopped. Traced my hand along the stone wall ..slowly stepping, up each step.
"I wonder if this door is locked, shall I explore or shall I knock?" I pondered knowing I lacked the patience. and so without a moments hesitation, I pushed open the door
Looking lost.. Looking to be found I wandered the halls looking around. Around the corner a cat statue sits, by the bottom of the staircase, awaiting to be ascended. what happened next perhaps well that depends on the inclusion of a note of the fusion. Of Reality, and of dream and all illusion merged in my rather peculiar state of mind.
As I walked up the staircase, I was greeted at the top, by a an old withered face. The sea blue suit he wore seemed to be, missing three buttons apparently. the sleeves frayed completely. Upon his head the highest of top hats. He stroked the whiskers of his beard.
"Dear Oh Dear Where are you going, For a moment please stop?" He asked without moving his lips.
"Well of my destination I am unsure...I''m on a trip you see, I intended to wander all the way to the top" I explained.
"Top of what indeed I ask, have you lost the plot, perhaps?" he muttered looking rather displeased.
Just then I looked down all the steps. To where a cat sat, looking at me, the colour of, the gentleman''s velvet top hat. I raised my brow in https://www.tradebit.com strangest of all, now here''s the thing. The Cat raised it''s brow back. To my alarm.. But the old man assured me, The cat meant me no harm.
Alright then Ive had enough of this place.. I moved closer to take a better look, before I decided to depart. Though now where the old man did stand. Stood a clock with no face, nor turning hands.
"A magician!" I cried. "A wizard! A spell!" As from the clock, A pendulum fell.
"Its time to go, now don''t delay, Time now to wake up." said the twilight cat holding a ruby cup. filled with a pale emerald elixir. scent of sugar.
"Wake up! I cried. Surely not, I wakened only hours ago!"
"I think so, now on you go, don''t trip descending down the stairs."condescendingly said the cat upon the stairs, standing staring with twilight hair.
"Now this is not fair! Now I am filled with confusion....Of all of this, I am unsure. For surely this can be no illusion. Though it seems most bizarre, you with blackened coat embellished by stars.. An old man to a clock, for a moment it did shock but time does encase us each after all..." I waited for a response, but the cat carried on whistling the most ridiculous tune. "Ive had enough! You are some sort of loon! That''s it, yes we''re through. Sir, Good day to you!" I exclaimed as I turned to leave.
For a moment I was unaware, until the moment I understood there was no cat and there were no stairs, Then I knew I knew not where, I was standing, but In the rain, I stood there.
