Details:
Her seven brothers have called her "The Petunia in the Onion Patch," being the only girl. Meriwyn grew up with sounds of music, from her dad playing the piano and the accordion, and her mom singing and playing many old records of the Sons of the Pioneers, Jim Reeves, Slim Whitman, Roy Rogers, etc., etc.. When her older bros began playing the fiddle in 1987, she wanted one, too, and by the time she was 16 she had earned the title of Oregon State Fiddle Champ. She and her brothers performed together from the time Meriwyn was 7 years of age. Her Grandma Jessie Leighton inspired her to sing the old hymns, and after Merwiyn was married in 2004, she recorded this album at brother Chris'' studio (https://www.tradebit.com) in Burleson, TX. Meriwyn lives in Hemet, CA, with her husband, Eric, and two little girls, Jessie, two, and Leah, 2 mos. Once a year she joins the entire family (The Booher Family of Oregon) in a "reunion concert."
