In the spring of 07, we were talking "what''s next" after a gig. After tossing around the idea of how to approach the next record, John suggested we do a "live" recording...meaning raw, virtually untouched in editing or overdubs. After talking it over a bit, we agreed on a date and process to make it happen...some last minute rehearsals, contacting Jan Waling the audio wizard to do the tech...and off we https://www.tradebit.com here we are
"It Is What It Is", was recorded in one evening, on June 2nd, at The Old Art Building in Leland Michigan. We rented the hall, filled it up with friends, and tried to make this as authentic a performance as we could...just the three of us. Some tunes are brand new, and is exciting to premiere these for this project. Our good friend Seamus Shinners introduced us, and away we went, straight through the set list, with one take per track. Within a couple of weeks the record was mixed at The Wah! from Jans'' tracks, mastered by Don Julin, replicated, and here we are.
What you hear is New 3rd Coast having a great time with great friends, playing our best tunes. From the onset we all agreed that this record was about a good honest representation of what do... knowing how it turned out in the end was less important than having FUN doing it, and of course knowing -"It Is What It Is!"
