“So what would you gentlemen like on your pizzas tonight?” was the only thing heard, via speakerphone, promoter on the other end, aside from the blowing-by of traffic through downed windows on Interstate 94 leaving Minneapolis.

Following this, within the vehicle, were suggestions along the lines of “Skittles and Clouds,” “Robots and Fire Alarms,” and “Bald Eagle and Tyranny.” Luckily, circa June, 2007 when longtime McKinley Place bandmates Bryan Shackle and Tyler Jorenby were commissioned by In The Groove Productions to sit down and write a series of songs for bumper music and various television series’, they agreed on a simple “Pepperoni and Rock n‘ Roll.”

ReadyGoes, born product of this need for an impromptu pseudo-dance-pop spectacle, sprouted truly by happy accident. Vocalist Shackle and drummer Jorenby, the two co-founding tunesmiths, after years of wading deep in the Minneapolis Scene and being involved w/ some of the biggest names in the nation, had been handed their long-awaited opportunity to form their dream project on a silver platter. After being offered a show on 7-7-07 at the Fineline Music Café in Minneapolis in birthday celebration of local photography wizard Mel Stone, what appeared to be a forthcoming panicked yet painstaking search for the missing links in the group happened seemingly overnight.

Immediately in co-founder Jorenby’s back yard were bassist George Hadfield (This World Fair, Ari Herstand) and guitarist Mo (currently of Wannabe Hasbeens, formerly of Castle Versus Castle). Shackle then turned to McKinley Place guitarist Patrick Gibbs and the lineup was completed.

Within 2 weeks of scrambled rehearsals, writing and recording sessions, and Jager shots down the road at Lee’s Liquor Lounge, the supergroup had put together a truly punishing, energetic, and unique indie-pop-rock set of originals.

Several months of assiduous song-crafting and performances at some of the best clubs in town led to the conception of a 5 song self-titled EP with Evan “Evil” Bakke of World Record Productions (Quietdrive, Throw the Fight, Lucky Boys Confusion) and Adam "Pudge" Krinsky. Songs like “Psycho” and “Flashbulb” encompass a slam n’ punch indie rock n’ roll wind along the lines of such groups as The Killers and Mutemath while the band maintains its emotionally charged roots in the slamming semiballads “Marianne” and “If I see you again.”

It’s clear-cut and safe to say that the Mischievous Kingpins of ReadyGoes won’t be seeing much rest in their musical near-futures. They can be found in their studio in Minneapolis (coined “Space”) on a virtually nightly basis. Keep your ears peeled for their songs on several of MTV’s and other networks’ television shows and look out for the release of their self-titled debut EP at the Varsity Theater in Minneapolis on Friday, December 14th 2007. Chances are, they’ll buy you a beer. They might even offer up a slice of good old Aardvark and Tornado ‘za. Hey, Tyler made it himself.
