Nocturnus is another dark ambient gothic journey through a soundscape filled with romantic graveyards, forgotten catacombs, and creepy crypts from Robert Short. All enshrouded in a vale of darkness that is inviting, terrifying and irresistable.
Inspired by the gothic works of Midnight Syndicate, Dead Can Dance, Danzig, Delerium and Disney’s Haunted Mansion, nocturnus is a soundtrack to a horror film that never existed.
Short is more composer than musician. “I love movies and all the disciplines involved”. From acting, directing, writing, visual effects, (he won and Oscar for his work on “Beetlejuice”).
His compositions are less about structure and more about storytelling. “My goal with this second ambient album is to take listeners on a journey through a dark world filled with more mystery, terror and romance than before.
