This Kano State born, Nassarawa/Benue native MC got into Hiphop music as far back as 1991, in secondary school shows, rapping and exchanging freestyles with fellow school mates. He was known then as Terryfic. He then featured on a talent-hunt show on DITV Kaduna Called “Beatz of our Tyme” shortly after he graduated from secondary school in 1993. He got acclaim for writing and co-producing the jingle. This was Terry''s first time in a recording studio.
After graduation, he started making a name for himself in the city of Kaduna where he spent almost twenty years, growing up in the ghetto neighbourhood of Ugwan-Dosa. His popularity grew even more when he regularly featured on a weekly radio program called “Rap Attack” where he would freestyle and play his demo tapes.
The first born of a family of three, Terry came from a humble middle class background with his family barely keeping their head above the water. His Father was a salesman and his Mother was a beauty salon owner. Terry would frequently escape the harsh realities of by burying his head in action comics and imagine himself as a super hero. He later changed his name and persona to Tha Rapman, an influence that came from being heavily inspired by Batman comics.

About the name: Tha Rap (M. A. N.) actually means Rapmanifestation to amateur niggaz (in the rap game) He carried the name after being inspired by Batman (the masked super hero created by Bob Kane in DC Comics). He was formlly known as Terryfic till he changed the name.
