The mixtape opens with a heavy intro building anticipation for the anthem to https://www.tradebit.comt anthem is “Air It Out”.Talk about getting things off your chest ,this emcee brutally takes shots at everything from politics to corny “chicken noodle soup” songs. There was so much versatility to follow as the cd rolled https://www.tradebit.comgs like “Remorse”,”Talk 2 u” and “Get Out Get Gone” have cross over appeal but still stay street enough to listen to with the fellas.
One of the most introspective songs on “Point Of No Return” is “The Lense (do it again)” . “The Lense” is about having one chance to go back into time and to fix what was https://www.tradebit.como touched everything on that track from the Bush Election to personal experiences of slashing the enemies who once jumped him. Another song that was hilarious but also true was “She’s A Hoe”. Also another lyrical dagger was the “Beware” freestyle. The world play and flow on this track is something that would make Pun listen twice. On the more serious side of things “Life Song” and the riveting “Maybe You Should Kill Me” are so well put together and meaningful I had to rewind a few times. There are so many gems on this project it would take too long to critique everyone. All I can say is this is indefinitely the cd of the year and needs to be heard by all. One question posed to me is “why the f*&k isn’t this guy signed????”
I went into reviewing this cd as a skeptic and when I finished I was a https://www.tradebit.com “Point Of No Return” is a well crafted masterpiece and Tha Advocate proves to be a heavy weight in this industry.

If you don''t know we''ve already heard him on numerous MIC Check mixtapes so far but this is the first solo artist mixtape I''ve gotten to review. The joint is hosted by DJ Bedtyme and Remy Ma, shout to Remy too going thru that situation right now. One could even say she went past the point of no return but let’s stay positive.
"Air It Out" is deep but it''s def speaking to the state of Hip Hop, I can dig the message in the hook but it didn''t flow that smooth to me. Tha Advocate getting his word play off on "Talk 2 U". I''m def a fan of MCs that use words to their advantage; the hook was proper too. I''m fucking with "Substance" too. The title pretty much speaks for itself in regards to todays ringtone rap. Concept wise I don''t think I''ve heard another joint like "The Lense". Again I dug the message in the hook but the flow was choppy...dope ass concept regardless. She''s A Hoe" with Diz added a lil character to the mix, cats have fun with it. I had that "Get Lo/Threats" freestyle on rewind for a minute...that raw focused intensity. Beat wise That Advocate laced "Life Song". I fuck with that sample, it gives off a crazy vibe.
This is a CD that grew on me. Off the first listen I was like "shit was cool" and that''s about it but once you start to break down the science of the songs it gets a lil deeper and you can see what Tha Advocate is all about which in one word is lyrics. You take the conviction in which he spits, along with the stories and message he''s trying to get across and you got a dope MC. I think the flow is choppy at times and he can hit you with some "run-on" bars but you have to admire an MC who knows exactly who they are and what they want to accomplish. I still think he needs work to be a complete MC, meaning finding that happy medium between flow, lyrics, message, delivery, harmony and hook…every time out the booth. Shit most MCs these days are looking for that happy medium but one difference is Tha Advocate sounds hungry enough to actually work at achieving it. (9/6/07)

Now as far as mixtapes by white rappers or young New York rappers go... This is one of tha best I have heard in a long time... Now to be honest, I can tell Tha Advocate is a fan of Eminem, but really who isn''t... But like most white rappers who like to mirror Eminem... Tha Advocate seems to have learned from him to find out what can work for him while still remaining real to himself...
Tha Advocate seems like a very intellegent artists as he touchs on a lot of current events accurately while still keeping it entertaining and not forced, and also getting Remy Ma to host tha tape. He seems to know exactly what he is doing and I love how he has some relevant songs while adding that commercial appeal tha average listner, North or south, can enjoy. Track 3 "Talk 2 U" ft. Poetic talks about a ill past lover and carries tha intensity a track of such needs. Tha track could easily appear on radio if tha hook had a feature from Tpain to capture those southern listners or NeYo to keep it New York.
Also I''m glad Tha Advocate shows so much love to the greats before him like so many others forget to do lately. I can easily see a label pick him up and help him blend his style with a more commercial appeal so that he can get more attention by pretty much helping him with beat selection and hook crafting... I mean tha hooks are ok but just need to be put together a little more easier... like on "She''s a Hoe", "Talk 2 U", "Remorse" and "Point of No Return", I mean just imagine "Maybe you Should Kill Me" with a hook by Robin Thicke...
I know he can''t really help this problem, But his freestyles easily get rid of that problem by filling some entertaining instrumentals with straight lyrics of what needs to be heard in this current state of Hip-Hop. So if your looking for a hot young artist with some nice word play and a confident east coast swag then Tha Advocate Point Of No Return Mixtape is a sure choice... Creativity, Lyrics, Fiyah East Coast feel and no soda on tha side...

Every so often an exceptional artist lurks beneath the shrouded depths of the underground world waiting for the perfect time to pounce into the spotlight with ferocity. At a time when society is tired of the monotonous sounds of today’s music and cries out for someone to break the barriers of the norm and one man stands to start a revolution. The cries have been heard, that is time is now and that man is Tha Advocate.
As a dedicated artist, Tha Advocate has been recording music since 1997. He was born in Jersey in 1983 and later relocated to Newburgh, New York where he spent most of his teenage years and then relocated back to New Jersey. His life has been less than perfect and his passion for rapping has created a platform to confront his demons. Clever rhyme scheme, meter and simile’s reflect this “passionate” poet’s motive to resurrect his listener’s deepest and most intimate feelings about life, death and the everyday struggle. His sounds generate a tornado of thunderous ground shaking beats and silky but fiery lyrics interweaved with machine-gun quickness to fuse order and mayhem into one atomic ball of electricity.
In addition, this multi-talented artist is arduously involved in every aspect of the production of his original beats.
As a producer, Tha Advocate has the ability to not only put his heart and soul into his lyrics, but into the creation of his music as well. The extensive use of various musical instruments helps to develop the particularly unique sound on his tracks.
