Details:
It''s hard to believe that this is our fourth CD with The Twins. They''ve come along way from street musicians in the seaside town of San Carlos, Sonora to the serious recording studio veterans they''ve become. A couple microphones set up in the livingroom evolved to a stand alone studio and new Mexican corporation. My engineering learning curve has grown with The Twins, this new CD is by far the best we''ve done, of 16 Gatorlegs music releases!

"Amor" kinda happened by accident. During the sessions recording The Twins 3rd CD, Twins II La Musica de Mexico" our buddy Manuelito would come to hang out. The guys would say "Let''s do one for Manuelito" . . . and after a while to our surprize discovered we had another release! We first met Manuelito at open mic night at The Twins "home base" cantina, Bananas. Hosts Frank and wife Dino have cultivated their venue into a real happening place, attracting delightfully talented performers and songwriters from the state of Sonora, and in particular, Guaymas. Manuelito''s voice has a captivating Bee Gees quality and soon became a local favorite singing classic latin love songs, including those of legendary Guaymas songwriter Rosendo Montiel another Bananas open mic favorite. His classic "Porque No Fui Tu Amigo" is included on this CD.

"Amor" is what happens when a norte americana violinist and vocalist discovers the genre of spanish language classics. These beautiful melodies inspired the lush orchestration and instrumentation. I''ve been a longtime fan of Harry Nilsson, violinist Jerry Goodman, and the brilliant Randy Newman, these flavors definitely color the arrangements. My long associations with Spanky and Our Gang, the Mamas and Papas and current partnership with Chris Montez have influenced our sound as well. A major influence was the soundtrack of the film "Brazil." The result is a delicious mix that encompasses the diversity of San Carlos, Sonora, Mexico. Some cuts evoke a gypsy feel, while others may feel more French or European, still others are pure Mexicano.

This CD is made possible by the patronage of our sponsor Mayra Young at Casa De Amigos Realty. Fall in love with the music, then discover the beauty of San Carlos, Sonora, Mexico!
