Details:
Wyldefyre is a talented musical duo who perform, in period costume, at renaissance, medieval and pirate festivals. Their repertoire includes songs culled from the rich musical heritage of Ireland and the British Isles combined with a healthy dose of uptempo drinking songs, sea shantys, bawdy renaissance faire favorites, original compositions and even the occasional set of traditional Irish session tunes.

The Performers:

Martyn Wylde and Tree McInnis.
In addition to being multi-instrumentalists, both are accomplished actors, and their period characterizations further enhance the group’s musical performance and audience rapport.

Formed in an Irish pub on St. Patrick’s Day 2004, the group has three CDs to it’s credit (available here at CD Baby) along with an extensive schedule of faire, pub and concert appearances.

Musician Bios:

Martyn Wylde (Mark Belenson) vocals, guitar, bass, octave mandolin, percussion

Mark''s smooth tenor and astonishing 3 1/2 octave vocal range had him headed for a career in music from an early age. Rock music, particularly the “British Invasion” of the mid-1960s radically changed the direction that career was to take.

Mark’s driving, yet melodic basslines and upper register vocal harmonies kept him in demand as a studio and touring musician for over three decades. In 2000 he ended a nearly ten year long stint with southern rockers Bandit, after recording three CDs and touring extensively with the group, to try his hand at yet another musical genre; the folk music of the British Isles.

An experienced actor and a devotee of all things Celtic, Mark’s fingerstyle guitar, octave mandolin and distinctive voice are hallmarks of Wyldefyre’s unique musical style.

Tree McInnis (Su Lapadura) vocals, flute, bodhran, bones

Su has been both a street performer and scripted cast member at renaissance and medieval faires since 1999, and brings humor and authentic period characterization to her role as “Mistress of Ceremonies” of Wyldefyre’s musical stage show.

In 2003 she helped found the Privy-Tiers, an all female musical pirate quartet, specializing in sea shantys sung primarily a capella with four part harmony. Su joined Wyldefyre in March 2006. A multi-instrumentalist, Su also plays oboe, bassoon and a wide variety of traditional percussion instruments.
