Details:
After performing extensively in his homeland of Israel,
saxophone player and composer Yaron Elyashiv decided to search for new inspiration in the capital of the world New York City.
Possesing a different approach to improvisation, deeply concentrated on melodic lines and motifs, Yaron has recorded his debut album as a leader
"I Remember You", in Oct. 2007. He is also featured as a sideman on veteran singer Myrna Lake''s next release (scheduled February 2008).
In Israel he studied at "Rimon School of Jazz and Contemporary Music",
and with leading Jazz musicians Erez Barnoy, Amikam Kimelman, Mamelo Gaitanopoulos and more.
Since his recent arrival to NY late in 2006, Yaron has appeared in such clubs as Minton''s Playhouse, Fat Cat, St. Nick''s Pub, Arturo''s, The Greenwich Village Bistro, Big Apple Jazz and Creole to name a few.
Among others he had the good fortune to study with Barry Harris, Joel Frahm and Bob Mover.
