Has always showed a strong tendency to be a great singer since she was 2 years old.
`
"At that time I was already prepared to interpret and sing for friends and relatives, in the meetings and parties in the family and I would put my hand out for a few coins."
`
"I started to study music when I was 7 because I wanted to learn how to sing just like my mother did. I was taught the piano, the guitar and at the age of 15 I started singing in the church. I studied vocal techniques, singing itself and enlarged my musical repertory."
`
"I''m romantic and in love with MPB (which stands for Brazilian Popular Music) that explores love as well as my own roots."
`
"From the international music, I''m keen on Jazz and Blues. I adore Sarah Vogan, Billie Holiday, Aretha Franklin, Chet Backer, Miles Davis,Barbra Streisand, Nara Jones and Diana Krall."
`
"The Brazilian Popular Music is due to the passion I have for my country and for the great composers that narrate stories about love and the everyday life."

` Shirley Espíndola was born in the city of São Paulo,Brazil, dream and joyful, birthplace of a family of musicians. Since she was just a child, her gift for singing was already fairly clear, taking her mother for inspiration, great supporter of her artistic carrier. She always astonished everyone who saw her file as a fashion model at the age of 12 and she would sing without any kind of prejudice.
`
With an enviable sensitivity, she touches people''s hearts with her loving and romantic song.

Took part in a Christmas Show in the Ibirapuera''s Gymnasium with great MPB singers, with an audience of 19000 people.
In 1993 she decided to studied lyrical songs with the Conducter Luís Tenáglia (S.P. - Conductor of the Berlim Chorus for long years) and has participated as singer and supporting actress in the Musical "Um Tempo Para O Natal" - From Heaven''s Throne (from David T. Clydesdale), under the direction of Sérgio Pavarini and production of "Igreja de Nova Vida (Church of New Life)" - S.P 1994, at Bibi Ferreira Theater in São Paulo - S.P.
In 1998 she started as actress and fashion model for publicity photos, films and corporate and institutional videos.
In 2000 she developed her professional career singing professionally in bars and night clubs with a Jazz quartet, Bossa Nova and MPB (Brazilian Popular Music).
In (2001-2003) she studied popular singing, vocal and perception techniques at C.E.M. (Centro de Estudos Musicais Tom Jobim - São Paulo - S.P.) with Prof. Patrícia Escobar. She has also participated in the course over the influence and phases of the singer Elis Regina.
In April 2000, after watching the Roberto Menescal Show at "Clube Pinheiros" in São Paulo; and meeting him personnally, she initiated her own project of her first CD, under him direction, which has defined her as having potential voice for great songs. After this day the career of the singer Shirley Espíndola was traced by one of the greatest masters of Bossa Nova.

CD"Bossa Romântica" - The first Shirley Espíndola record, directed and produced by Roberto Menescal, (May 2002), recorded by Albatroz (Rio de Janeiro) and distributed by Trama, it is a project which conception is linked to Shirley romantic sensibility and her sweet way of singing. Beyond the gathering of her influences and truths, it is tunned and sintetizes what is happening throughout the world. It does not put together a bunch of meaningless and oportunistic songs. Daring, the CD reveals itself as almost as a reinvention of a pleiad of composers who shine the universe of the Music, which Shirley has decided to sing. They are well known romantic song, each one embraced with a different swing. The CD contains 14 tracks and has the special participation of Danilo Caymmi (musician, composer and interpreter) on tracks 3 and 14, and Tifany Espíndola (Shirley''s daughter) on track 13 and acting as backing vocal on the other tracks. Her daughter Tifany studies diatonic mouth organ, popular songs and perception at C.E.M. (Centro de Estudos Musicais Tom Jobim, São Paulo - SP)

Track 11 "A Volta" (Roberto Menescal / Ronaldo Bôscoli) will make part of a Menescal musical compilation to be launched by Zico Label in Japan.

She tries to put in her CD all her vocal quality; shows her joviality in Tom Jobim''s, Danilo Caymmi, Roberto Menescal, and other composer''s songs.
` Sings gracefully, in a fantastic rhythmic articulation and vocal improvisation, transmitting her thorough feelings for music.
