Reverend Frank E. Coleman, Jr. is a native of Westchester County, New York. He was educated in the Tuckahoe Free Union School District. Pastor Coleman is a graduate of Virginia Union University, earning a BA degree in Religion and Philosophy. Pastor Coleman began his theological course work at the Samuel Dewitt Proctor of Theology at Virginia Union University. He completed his Master of Divinity work at Almeda University, Boise Idaho in 2002.
Having been led by God, Pastor Coleman answered the call to pastoral ministry at an early age. He began pastoral leadership in June 1980 at the Zion Baptist Church, Westmoreland, Virginia. He served this congregation for 19 years accomplishing many ministerial and spiritual goals. After serving this congregation with great love and commitment, Pastor Coleman was led to return back to New York and under-shepherd the church of his early discipleship-the Shiloh Baptist Church of Tuckahoe. Pastor Coleman has served this church for 8 years. Under his leadership, the church through witness strives to prepare the community, nation, and world for kingdom readiness.
Pastor Coleman''s love and experience in gospel music has spanned over 3 decades. His musical interest began in quartet singing and gospel choirs. Pastor Coleman served as lead male vocalist in the Virginia Union Gospel Choir as well as Assistant Director. He was also lead vocalist for the Sons of Faith Gospel Quartet, where he also served as lyrist. Pastor Coleman has 2 albums to his musical credit. He debuted in December 2006 in his first solo live recording. This phenomenal undertaking has combined Pastor Coleman''s love for music to be captivated in many genres. Pastor Coleman adds to his resume appearing in concert with Trini-tee 5:7 and the McClurkin Project in December 2007.
A passage of Scripture that illuminates his identity as a Christian, as well as God''s purposeful call is, "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations" (Jeremiah 1:5).
