Details:
In September of 2001 Life, and the Living of it became more urgent for many of us. Suddenly we valued every moment as a chance for self expression. It was suddenly clear we could die without ever achieving our dreams and aspirations. Indeed we had not reached yet for many of them. For this reason Richard Montefiore returned to music after 10 year hiatus, working with troubled kids and their families. "Blizzard" is the musical soundtrack of this reemergence; one of his earliest experiments with ACID Loops. Through the intervening years 2001 to 2007, Mr. Montefiore continued to experiment; both musically and in lyrical collaboration with a a number of different styles. One style which emerged was "Vocal Electronica", an inter-twining of first person, in-the-moment lyrics, (themselves often inspired by emotive music soundscapes)and the introspective Electronic music being created by Wendy Gronzdil,(heavily inspired by Deep Forest and Enigma) as well as the Spoken word beds and pristine sounds of Steve Hewitt of OX3 and John Fryett.
