In a sea of bland, manufactured, soulless music, Whatever Fits provides their listeners with a hard rock sound driven by catchy tunes, lyrics, and rhythms. Whatever Fits serves up rock at a time when rock is needed the most. Their songs are written with attention to detail, lyrics that are real, and an attitude that always comes through their music. If you like hard and heavy, they’ve got it! If you want slow and steady, they’ve got it! With influences like Collective Soul, Nickelback, Stone Temple Pilots, Led-Zeppelin, and Alice in Chains, their roots in rock give them a diverse and ear catching sound. Since their birth in 2002, Whatever Fits has released three albums, their most recent titled “Whole.”
On guitar is Craig Hyatt. His passion for rock of all ages gives the band a distinct sound that uses the full potential of both rhythm and lead guitar. He started playing after receiving an acoustic guitar from his step-dad for Christmas when he was fourteen and hasn’t put it down since. Learning to play classic rock riffs from bands like Cream, Black Sabbath, and Led-Zeppelin inspired him to begin writing songs with style, while incorporating the sounds of modern rock. After just one month on the guitar, he formed Whatever Fits with several friends from high school. At first, he played the few cover tunes he could, but in a short time Craig moved to center stage. Influenced greatly by guitarists such as Jimmy Page, Jimi Hendrix, John Jorgenson, and Slash, he began crafting his own style of lead playing by pulling his favorite tricks from these figures.
Within a year he began recording his own music, which would push him to find his own unique sound and style for his newly created band. Craig began blending his talents together to write, play, and record songs that sent a message to the world about who he is. He began sitting in for bands in need of lead guitarists, playing instrumental sets at small venues, festivals, and galleries, but his focus stayed on his band Whatever Fits. Discouraged by the coming and going of singers during the early years, Craig was determined to keep his passion alive. Driven by his love of music, he would not settle until he found the perfect voice to deliver his songs with the impact that he desired, which he finally found when friends introduced him to vocalist Rob Fulton. Since being introduced in 2004, Whatever Fits has gone from a garage band to a professional class music group. Now with Rob on board, Craig had someone to share his creative talents with. Craig and Rob split writing duties for their brainchild album, “Whole.” After spending as many years as a sound engineer as he has a guitarist, Craig helmed the wheel for the album as producer and co-engineer. After such a journey, he is looking forward to getting his music out for the world to hear.

Vocalist Rob Fulton’s passion for music began at a young age. With a musical family that includes the likes of singer/songwriter Randy Sparks, he began playing piano at the age of 7. Singing is what he always wanted to do. So much so that he bought a guitar and taught himself how to play. One day when he was with a group at the beach in Santa Cruz, playing and singing by the bon fire, someone told him that he should meet this band looking for a lead singer. At that point, Whatever Fits had finished recording about two thirds of their second album but didn’t have a lead singer. Craig asked Rob, after hearing him sing, if he would be interested in recording vocals for them. He agreed. Shortly after, Craig and Rob spoke about a new direction in which they wanted to take the band. Rob had written “Muse” and shortly after Craig and Rob teamed up on “So Right”. They had their direction and new that their skills in song writing complemented each other for something truly special.
