Details:
Betty was three years old riding the fruit wagon in her grand parent''s orchard. The fruit orchard was a field away from the house yet her mother could hear the high clear sounds of her singing voice. Although the words were barely understandable, mom knew she had the voice range to be a yodeler. Mom and dad had a country western band of their own, playing all varieties of music and mom had taught herself to yodel. The next couple of years she taught Betty the words to Patsy Montana''s song, "Cowboy Sweetheart". She taught Betty and her sister Drena two more songs.

At five Betty yodeled in public for the first time riding on the back of a flatbed truck, traveling throughout the Boise valley, town to town, advertising the ''Snake River Stampede Rodeo'', at Nampa,Idaho. er picture on the truck is in the history of Nampa, book. Both girls signed their first autographs that day.

From then on the girls were regular singers in their parents band at Rodeo''s, Duck valley Indian reservation rodeo, Caldwell Night rodeo, Idaho State Cattlemen''s Convention, and many other places and halls, in the western Us.

At five the girls received two mustang ponies for Christmas presents. It began a mutual friendship between the three sisters and their horses. From her love for her mustang poney, Betty wrote her songs, ''Legend of the Oreana''s., and "The old West Lives on In My heart", both songs very popular with the crowds at the Rodeo''s. neither are on her album.

Two rims of ryoalite rock above the canyon walls form the channels of the Snake River and Owyhee County, which border Oregon, Nevada, and Utah on the south and west. This vast area, the size of Rode Island, is a rider''s paradise of space, deserts and mountains, with rock-ribbed canyons. This is where the girls grew up with their ponies. Dad had two loves, his music, and bringing raw land and water together in land development. A strange combination. It was a family way of life to always be in the wide-open spaces, living like pioneers did a century ago.

This way of life is reflected in Betty''s lyrics and she sings her songs with the same love of God, people and country life. At eighteen Betty was hired to sing pop
and Classic music in a Chineese restaurant and lounge. With her versatile voice she could sing any type of song asked by the customers. Eventually She formed her first band traveling to Missouri and opening a large warehouse for an advertising company. While there she worked in the art department of that company as well as entertaining. She returned back to Idaho and eventually formed a band with Rand Hillman.

By this time Betty and her sister Drena had mastered a beautiful harmony style of their own while singing together. As a band they were in high demand through out the valley. They played for the next twelve years at Rodeo''s and took a tour of the Nevada circuit. They took a military tour of the Hawaiian Islands, and they toured to Nashville to Texas. Betty cut her songs, ''Cowboy and Rainbows'', and ''Horse Hair Boogie'' at the Johnnie Cringo studio in Austin, Texas.

Betty''s album reflects her unusual talents in the versatility of the songs she sings. Her loves'' are horse back riding, traveling, swimming, and family camp-outs where everyone sits around the campfire and sings old favorites, classic, comedy, spirituals, yodels, patriotic, and almost any kind of music. Her love for family and friends, children and everyone she meets is her trademark. ''My Nashville Days'' reflects her love for home and her impressions of Nashville country. God and country is her passion, singing the National Anthem at Boise, State College football games, along with her partner Rand.

Her CD cover song, ''We Have Love" is a beautiful song. The arrangement as a duo is beautiful and is calming, soothing, melancholy, and exciting to hear.

A five star comment, "She is her music and it seeps into your pores, from her natural down-home delivery to her exciting yodels. Another fan from New Jersey says, " I have been collecting quality music my whole life and Betty''s is now part of my collection."

Betty''s C D is recorded on stage with different musicians at various times. Her brother Ellis, base and harmony, sister Drena Lynn, solo and harmony, long time friend and musician, playing keyboard and harmony is Tom Lowe. The fiddle player is Bobby Hicks, one of her traveling musicians and others. Sometimes on sit down jobs, they played a duo or a trio with Rand on guitar as a duo and harmony. Betty plays various instruments, organizing the arrangements of the songs, booking all the shows, at home and away, and the M.C.-ing. With her wit, and her feel for the public, her fans love her.
She has appeared on stage with her long time friend from Idaho, and North West fiddling champion, Jana J. Owens and Buck Owens. She opened shows for many famous stars at state fairs and rodeos. She predicted Reba M. would be a star and is. Mill Tillis, Barbara Mandrel, Festus, Pat Boon family, Roy Rogers and Dale Evens in one of their rare performances of later years, and many others.

She played political events, her band performing before the Ronald Regan''s entourage on a fund raising tour, US senator, Stieve Symms, Idaho Senator, Walt Yarbroue and she was billboard at the Golden Nugget in Reno Nevada. They did a military tour in Hawaii, touring the islands. They have toured from Hawaii to Nashville, to Texas and she was bill-boarded at the Golden Nugget in Reno, Nevada.
