Corey Sue was born and raised in Lima, Ohio. They say that it''s "Lost in Middle America" but Corey says its where, at this time, her "Life is More Abundant".
As a child, she and her brothers sang as a group in churches throughout her hometown but a year after her father died, the songs went away too. She served almost seven years in the military and upon recieving an honorable discharge, she earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English from the Ohio State University.
She is an author of two young adult novels, WHERE''S DADDY? and LUST OF THE HEART as well as a Woman''s Guidebook. Corey Sue is an out-of the box kind of Pastor''s Wife...living life to the fullest... and a true Entreprenuer!
The assignment for this project is completed: to utilize her versatile vocals (that range from high saprano to rich alto)and produce a CD that remembers our troops, appreciates the past, embraces the present, looks towards the future...and honors our God! "FOR SUCH A TIME AS THIS" is right on time, during the time when people are experiencing loss through death, divorce,tragedies of nature (Rita, Katrina, California fires), of terroism (9/11) and of war (Persian Gulf, Iraq).
From the inception to the completion of this project, as Corey so candidly share in the project, she experienced being a wife to a soldier who was sent overseas during the Persian Gulf War. She speaks of her times of depression and the victory over it. She also shares of the time not so long ago- when she, her husband and her daughters lost everything in a house fire that left them having to reclaim thier identity.
So, as you listen to Corey Sue''s version of "America the Beautiful", remember and pray for our troops still overseas and thier families left back here to deal with the hardships of everyday life. When you listen to "Apple of Your Eye" and "Lonely", remember that God is hiding you under the shadow of his wings and that He will never leave you lonely...When you listen to Beauty for Ashes, feel the transformation of dispair to victory!!!!
When you listen to the 8th track, "How Great Is Our God," remember please, that no matter what unpleasant situation you are facing, God is still great and He is still good.
