"What is love is not hereafter
Present mirth hath present laughter
What''s to come is still unsure
In delay there lies no plenty
then come kiss me, sweet and twenty
Youth''s a stuff will not endure"
Wm. Shakespeare
Multi-instrumentalist James Spalink spends long hours in his home studio (dubbed "The Music Hole" by an impatient wife) crafting his interpretations of Renaissance Music. A long time Celtic musician, he takes the same liberal approach to Renaissance music. Says Jim "I''ve always felt that secular Renaissance music was hi-jacked by the classical genre, which often tends to give it a high-brow,academic air of "stuffiness".The bulk of it is actually closer akin to Celtic or any other folk music- written by,for, and about just plain people". Though there are several lively instrumentals, in this, his most recent endeavor he forays farther into vocals than in his previous recordings.
