For most of Jeanena’s (pronounced Ja-ne-na) adult life she has had a passion to give people a hope that they can be free, by any means necessary, from the chains that bind the mind, the will, and the emotions. She is also quick to encourage or even challenge people to remain teachable; no matter how much education they have, how much they believe they know about God, or how much scripture they know. She holds dear to her heart that many great men and women, full of knowledge, have fallen and have been publicly or privately treated inhumanly by those who could otherwise assist them in re-establishing their relationship with God. Consequently Jeanena encourages others to be mindful that whatever has befallen someone else can, without God’s grace, occur to them. She believes that no matter what man or woman has fallen into, God can heal and make them (us) whole.
Over the years Jeanena has become open to the different ways God chooses to use her to minister and encourage others; be it through teaching, writing songs, singing, mentoring or life coaching in intrapersonal and interpersonal relationship skills with adults, teens, and couples. Therefore it is no surprise that although she is an ordained minister and is often looked upon as a "very raw, practical, clear-cut warrior of the Lord"; she is also in the midst of completing graduate school to become a Family Life Educator.
Through many personal struggles and victories God has used them to give Jeanena courage, beyond what she has seen and felt, to do what He has placed in her to do under innumerable circumstances. God’s ability to use every situation for His glory helps her remember something her father once told her and at times she shares it with a class: “there are no mistakes in life, only lessons; they are either lessons learned or lessons lost”. So, whether Jeanena is singing or writing, she more often than not, publicly or privately, can be found teaching/coaching somewhere, someway, somehow; it’s a part of who she is.
