I’ve been writing lyrics since I was a young man. But, it wasn’t until God placed a call on my life in my thirties that I would begin writing Gospel music. I honestly didn’t know what God would have me to do when I accepted His call, but over the years, He has directed and led me on a journey like none other.
I remember many years ago being in a revival service in an old country church in backwoods Georgia and God touching my heart, placing a call on my heart to serve Him. I didn’t know what I was in for, but I accepted God’s call for whatever He would have me do. It was scary for my wife, Barbara and I, as we didn''t have a plan laid out for what was ahead, but we trusted God to lead us. I began to feel a call to music. I had been involved in music when I was a young man, playing doghouse bass and guitar for many years. But, I had no idea how God would put all of the pieces together in the days ahead. God called me to serve in a local church as their music director. For seventeen years, my wife and I poured our heart into the church and its members. We saw great things happen and thank God for blessing our time there.
My wife passed way in 2004, and through that loss, I began to see God moving my life in a different direction. I remained faithful at the church, working in music, but my heart was being changed. After a year of waiting, I knew that it was time to begin a new work in music evangelism. I have dedicated my life to His service and know that God has a plan for me.
I am thrilled at where God is leading me and look forward to the journey ahead!
