Born and raised in Hayward, California...Guadalajara Joe grew up listening to a lot of funk, pop and rap music from the late 70''s to the early 90''s like Rick James, James Brown, Too Short, Gerardo, Bell Biv Devoe, Wreckx n'' Effect, Tag Team, Another Bad Creation, New Edition, Digital Underground, Young MC, Tone Loc, Public Enemy, Second 2 None, DJ Quik, Whodini, Eric B. and Rakim, LL Cool J, and so much more!
Although he''s Puerto Rican, he got his stagename because he loves Mexican food so much! After dropping out of Barbizon Modeling school, Devry, and ITT Tech, he saw a skateboarding documentary about pro skater and amputee, Jon Comer, called "Never Been Done", which led him to write and record his first track ever in 2005. At that point in time, Guadalajara Joe decided he just wanted to do what he loved....share his songs and dance moves with everyone!
"Hay, Everybody!" is Guadalajara Joe''s debut album which he made himself! It includes simple/ funky rap beats, and includes appearances by his friends, Steve Adams and Zach Gill, from the band "ALO" (The Animal Liberation Orchestra).
