Details:
At just 13 years of age Fa-sin, began writing and recording his own material. The art of combining deeply rooted lyrics with profoundly orchestrated music has facinated him ever since he was 10 years old scratching Run DMC records on his RCA stereo. Inspired by such artists as Big Daddy Kane, Slick Rick, OutKast and Boogie Down Productions/KRS-1 (just to name a few), Fa-sin knew from the time he was a child that making music and being an entertainer was his calling.
Fa-sin got his start by dubbing cassettes of his recorded material and passing them out to friends and family members. Soon after that Fa-sin started getting recognized at school and around the neighborhood for his musical talent. That recognition also led him to getting gigs hosting and performing at house parties, local talent shows, and school events.
In the summer of 1999, at the age of 21 Fa-sin, began producing beats and lyrics for what would become his very first full length album. Independently released in June of 2001, "Comtemplation2001 - inside the journal" quickly received positive feedback from its audience. In search of a record deal Fa-sin, imediately started sending out promo packages to the major labels and radio stations in hopes that someone would notice his talent and give him a chance. Despite good unit sales and feedback that the album was getting, "Contemplation2001 - inside the journal" never received air play nor did it get Fa-sin the record deal that he was hoping for.
Two years later in the summer of 2003 Fa-sin, teamed up with long term friend and jazz musician Patrick Conner to launch South49 Records. Fa-sin immediately went back into the studio to put the finishing touches on his second album. Now running and maintaning his own record label Fa-sin is back with an 18 track album entitled "Elavated". What ya''ll know about that Country Powered Hip Hop?
