Details:
First Aid Kit has been serving up their own brand of noise since early 2002, which the quartet lovingly refer to as "Genresurf". They coined the phrase to describe their unique style, which bounces through different themes and genres in an eclectic channel-surfing frenzy.

They have released two albums in their short time on this earth; Mechanisms of Injury and Songs of Warships, and are currently working on their third full-length disc (slated for release sometime in 2008) at Blackbox Studios with Steve McGonigle.
This new recording project has spawned the single RPG, a happy ditty about the perils of waging war on an innocent society that practices the "other" religion.

The history of FAK goes back to 1993 when the four original members all met in high school. For several years after, Nate and Paul played in the Edmonton/Calgary band Pawn while Neil recorded and released a plethora of insane albums for the collective Neo P Productions. In late 2001, Nathan and Neil began writing songs together under the name Bacchanal and released the album Bacchanalia in the Big Shitty, which included collaborations with artists such as Dustin Cole and Rev Nicolay. This album served as a blueprint for things to come. When Paul and original bassist Chris Samis were recruited to perform the Bacchanal songs live, First Aid Kit was born.

Since then, the band has developed a reputation for its raucous and frenetic live shows and has received a fair amount of support and airplay from college radio across Canada. In 2005, Chris decided to leave the band to pursue other interests and was replaced on the bass by longtime FAK buddy Tim Sakellariou.

With new members and a new album coming very soon, First Aid Kit is looking forward to upcoming tours and everything the future may hold for them.
