Details:
The Lazy River Band began rocking the upper Midwest way back in 1969 when they were just teens. The lyrics of their new single “Man of Steel” are based on an emotionally-moving poem written on a white board in an army motor pool wherein armor plating was being added to military vehicles. A photo of the white board was sent guitarist/vocalist Randy Berka with a request to channel the emotions from the recent loss of his sister into writing a song about the poem. The result was a haunting ballad which the Lazy River Band re-worked into a hard-driving rock tune that was recorded at Junior’s Motel Studio in November of 2007. It is the first studio work by the Lazy River Band in 37 years and comprises a well-deserved tribute to U.S. service men and women. All profits from the recording are donated to the Armed Forces Foundation.
