Details:
The seeds of Polydream were planted in May of 1998, when two small-town kids with big ambitions began performing as an acoustic duet in a tiny coffee shop in Medford, WI. As their musical appetites grew, Lucas Etten and Jonathan Knudson began playing with multiple rock ensembles. Over the years, numerous line-up and instrument changes brought them to the addition of promising young guitarist Eric LeMieux and producer Britton Rice. POLYDREAM was the result of this evolution.

In January of 2005, the band began a new direction with producer, Britton Rice, who later joined the band as an official band member before the release of their now critically acclaimed debut EP, “A Rigid Shard of Balance:1” on July 14th, 2006.

The work on A Rigid Shard of Balance: 1 is described as "eclectic recipes that vary from Shoegazing beauties, to Sunny toss-arounds, to Epic pieces that pull on you… They are songs of courage, call to action, self-confirmation, spiritual intrigue, regret and more."

The band played rigorously in support of the EP, successfully touring with acts such as The Verve Pipe, playing notable appearances such as Summerfest, along with a series of successful club and theater dates. In 2007, POLYDREAM would also pick up “New Artist of Year” at the Madison Area Music Awards. All of this accomplished from a little EP, the first 4 songs they ever wrote together.

In the midst of touring and producing other artists, both collectively and individually, POLYDREAM continued writing and recording new material; further exploring the new ideas birthed on “A Rigid Shard of Balance:1.” On December 14th, 2007, POLYDREAM’s debut full-length entitled “Send Me to the Sun” was released.

”Send Me to the Sun” described as “a collection of coherent yet diverse songs, ranging from ethereal rock anthems, to piano symphonic gospel, to alt-country. It’s an album that has successfully fitted avant-garde arrangements and shoegaze textures into road tested pop craft.”
