Roger Tripp grew up in a small town in central California into a very musical family on both sides. He grew up with the influences of The Rambo''s, The Hinsons, The Happy Goodman''s in Gospel music & Merle Haggard, Buck Owens, & Hank Williams in Country music.
He started playing guitar at age 10, writing songs at age 15 combining both styles of music into writing positive Country & Christian Country music.
All 6 of his projects have been recorded in Nashville with the last 3 projects being on a small record label. He is currently working on his 7th project with hopes of it being ready by the summer of 2008.
He''s had his own band since 1991 (Christian Country) & they perform at churches, fairs & other events that are geared towards a family setting. In the late 90''s he released two singles to Christian Country radio, "What Do You Want Out of Life" peaking at #21 in January of 1999 & "In My Next Life" peaking at #24.
In the 6 projects he''s recorded to date, he''s written the majority of the material on them.
The 1st song on this project "Haggard''s Home", Roger wrote after going down to Oildale, CA & finding the boxcar that Merle was raised in. On the inside cover of this project, you will find a picture Roger & Merle on Merle''s bus with Merle signing Roger''s Merle Haggard Signature Fender Telecaster.
He considers himself a Positive Country & Christian Country artist with a very Bakersfield influenced Country sound.
