The members of standing waves have many, many years of performing experience between them. The band started as a labor of love in 2004 with the goal of doing a single live performance of all-original material. Exactly one year, three fractured vertebrae, and one broken rib and pelvis later, standing waves played it’s first live show on May 1st, 2005 as the Paul Cassady Band. After that first gig, since we didn’t kill each other, we decided to keep ‘er going for awhile.
You may have seen us recently playing under the name pc, but since most fans figured that had something to do with “politically correct” (which we most certainly are not), we thought it was time for a change. Actually, only
one of us thought it was time for a change. Everyone else thought we should go back to Paul Cassady Band….
We play a solid 90-minute set of unique original material that ranges from roots-rock to alt-country to twisted-folk. Call it “indie/pop/folk/rock” (hey, it works for Michael Penn…..). Whether “unplugged” or fully “amped-up” and electric, you can expect to hear insightful lyrics, beautiful melodies and carefully crafted arrangements on our first CD, lovingly titled "light fuse. lay on ground. run away."
So what does the band name mean? Or the CD title? Do you really think we’re going to tell you?? Did you really think we know??? Does anybody really care????
