Tony was born with one arm, and a passion for music. He had a strong love of music from an early age that went “hand-in-hand” with everyday life -- classic rock playing on errands with dad, folk music sung at family campfires, mom singing songs and teaching him to dance in the living room. As a teen he took interest in learning the guitar. After a year of fumbling through learning chords backwards on his mother’s guitar, he bought a Fender electric when he was 14. Though it took a while to learn how he could actually play, he endured and discovered a way to play left-handed by securing a guitar pick to his left arm using Gorilla Tape. Tony was given an acoustic guitar for his 18th birthday, and he immersed himself even deeper into the instrument. Tony is also a talented vocalist and pianist.
Tony carries a journal wherever he goes, finding inspiration in almost every place he visits, whether it be the beauty of the Eiffel Tower, a sunrise in Ireland, farmland in Wisconsin, skyscrapers in New York City, or people-watching at a train station. Ideas for lyrics are carefully plotted on journal pages, or scribbled on receipts or restaurant napkins.
Tony dedicates himself to putting his poetic insights to music. His playful storytelling draws from his relationships and experiences, his insights and ideals, his Midwest upbringing, and his travels here and abroad. His lyrics paint a picture accented by the simplicity and honesty of American folk music, which are brought to life by his captivating lyrics and warm vocal tones. Tony delivers his songs with unique sincerity and spirit -- he spares nothing from his audience, and invites them to take their eyes and minds off the clock for a while to listen to his stories.
