Straight out of Zion, IL (45 mins from Chicago), T-Watts has been making music for 6 years now. When he was in high school (Zion Benton), he always watched his boys make beats on the lunch table with pens so others can freestyle. He new then that he had to put this talent on cd. Watts bought a cheap mic for his tape recorder and downloaded instrumentals of famous artist music off the internet. To make a track, Watts had to record the instrumental from the computer speakers to the mic the same time you had to do your vocals. If you messed up, you would have to start all over again. It was a long and frustrated process but it got the job done at the time. When all the tracks was recorded on tape, Watts would go to his uncle’s house and burn the tracks he did on tape to cd. It was a really low budget album but it got a buzz around school. More and more people wanted to rap with him. It came to a point when Watts stop downloading artists music. He wanted to make his own.
Watts bought a cheap Casio keyboard and a cheap drum machine. The beats wasn’t studio quality but it brought more attention to his music. Watts was always good at working with what he had to make it something. He still used the same method as far as recording goes. Watts still wasn’t satisfied though. He wanted to be more professional and make money. That’s when he started to get on the grind.
Watts worked 3 months straight with no day off at his job at Piggly Wiggly. Don’t forget he was going to school too. Within a year, he managed to save $10,000. It was on then. He bought the Korg Triton ProX (the same keyboard Timbaland has). Then he bought the MPC 2000XL Studio Plus ( the same drum machine most top producers use). And to make it complete, watts bought a 24 track digital recorder. No more recording on tape decks. Since then T-Watts has been making hot baggers ever since. He made his own production company called Watts Production. His style of beats varies from Midwest, Down south and some out of the box stuff too. Now a days he’s making compilation cds like this one with his Lake County boys and selling beats.
So if you wanna here some gangsta music or need some beats, holla at ya boy.
