A short biographical history of Vanity – The Singer
From a home in which her parents encouraged her to always honor herself and her passions, Vanity’s musical journey began. At age 14 she became the youngest participant to ever be invited to attend the Austin Lyric Classical Institute. In local high profile jazz shows, Broadway style musicals and vocal competitions, she continued to wow audiences, make new fans and win awards; such as being voted Arizona’s Best Singer at only 15 years of age.
It’s at this time that she meets a man with a vision, a Buddhist heart doctor that became her benefactor. In his words, “it is a small thing to help one whose destiny in so clear.”
This destiny lead Vanity to producer Otto D''Agnolo and together they began the process of discovering exactly who Vanity really was, musically and artistically. Vanity began writing, recording and performing original music in different styles as she strived to understand her own personal power and find her one true voice. Piano accompanists were traded for dancers and dancers traded for live musicians as her jazz music turned to pop and her pop grew to rock. Honest in her music and true to her own self-expression she is not persuaded to re-direct her career when industry professionals boast that they know a better musical path for her. She has discovered her path, her power and her voice. Vanity has discovered her truth and that truth is on display in Vanity Tweak.
