Bro Jamison and the Gospel Gifts is the brainchild of the "Holy Spirit" and New York City native Bro Richard A Jamison. Bro Jamison is quick to give all honor to the Heavenly Father and the Holy Spirit when talking about his inspiration for the tracks on his current CD "Counting My Blessings".
"I consider myself a songwriter/arranger first and foremost but the tracks for "Blessings" came together so smoothly and quickly that there I was sitting there with all these great songs with no vocalist or quartet to give them to....and believe me I looked high and low for an artist to record my music."
Unable to find the right artist for his music,Bro Jamison decided to record once again but only this time he would rename his efforts "Bro Jamison and the Gospel Gifts". The "Gospel Gifts" are Bro. Jamison displaying his "gifts of harmony" by singing both lead and all of the background parts.
When asked about his favorite tracks he was quick to say
Near the Cross and Pass Me Not. "I,ve loved these old songs all my life and didn''t realize that they were composed by the same songwriters-Fanny Crosby and William Doane.
