Details:
"Flood The Sky have produced a remarkable set of songs, some killer riffs, good choruses and a good swell when a song needs it...Although there are only three of them they also manage to conjure up a huge sound with some fabulous three part harmonies."
-Stuart A. Hamilton/ Metal UK

"Smooth emotional voice with a makeload of catchy melodies, this is definitely the music you can turn on the girls with...a great sound with distorted creamy guitars and a hell of a rhythm section, this is what Flood The Sky is all about, the recipe is simple, but effective...definitely a must."
-RB/Daredevil Magazine

"With its debut album, Flood The Sky pursues radio-friendly melodic rock with a vengeance, the songs filled with dense, multi-layered guitars, warm vocal harmonies and slamming percussion. Incorporating elements of ''70s-styled arena rock with ''90s-era alternative rock, the trio cranks out songs that showcase Weinberg''s soaring, soulful vocals and the band''s impressive musical chops. This isn''t grunge or nu-metal or even "modern rock," just good, old-fashioned hard rock designed to blast out of boomboxes and car stereos at max volume..."The Great Misunderstanding" is an achingly beautiful mid-tempo ballad with lofty vocals, crunchy fretwork and imaginative percussion while "Caught Up" opens with elegant guitar interplay before slipping into a strutting rocker that sounds like Pearl Jam crossed with the Beatles. "Right Where You Are" is the natural single here, an energetic romp through various melodies, guitar riffs and ever-changing drumwork that is as infectious as the flu."
REV. Keith A. Gordon/ Alternative Culture Guide

"Flawless harmonies and seamless song sequences are overlaid with the lead singer''s strong, raspy voice...Stand out tracks are the sing-a-long ''All I Need'', which has a funky riff running throughout, and the catchy ''Right Where You Are'' has great hooks and could feasibly be a first single."
-Claire B/[the-mag] UK

"Tight vocal harmonies (with echoes of classic rock) combined with alternative edges characterize this well-produced album. Best of the bunch is the mid tempo alt-rock number ''Caught Up."
-Demo Critiques/Music Connection

"The opening number ''Right Where You Are'' is certainly a direct, modern song riding on a Pixies sounding guitar riff with Weinberg''s cracked verses and soaring chorus vocals sounding distinctive in his range...The songs rely on melody and catchy hooks...The biggest strength of Flood The Sky''s songs is their focus on simplistic melodies that would sound great on rock radio...The high-energy track ''Reason'' delivers verses with attitude, and dynamics are in full force...Excuse the pun(s), but the sky''s the limit, as long as the band doesn''t flood the market with any inferior follow-ups."
-Nick Collings/Alternative Rock Review-UK

Interview with Dayna Dunne:

Jeremy Weinberg, vocals/guitar: Well, I''d like to say the rock cliche is alive and well with Flood The Sky

DD: Funny, I was just going to say that. (But JW''s the kind of guy who gets sick after sleeping with the wrong woman.) Okay, well, I have all I need.

JW: Wait, wait. Let''s see...my worst fear. Driving is my worst fear. That''s not true. I''m good at driving, bad at parking and...not that good at driving.

Flood The Sky''s self-titled album, released September 2004, was mixed by Pablo Solorzano (Matchbox 20, Rod Stewart) who apprenticed with Andy Johns (Led Zeppelin), and Michael Patterson (Beck), and was mastered by Nancy Matter (Duran Duran, Peter Gabriel). The album was entirely produced and packaged by the band members on their label Surrounded Records for less than four grand.

The album''s ten songs express the struggle in the quest for individuality and purpose. The lyrics, representing the double-sided pitch shift between want and revolt, are deftly held by Weinberg''s scratch and croon vocals. He is a newcomer who doesn''t sound like anyone else. Though he''s writing modern rock riffs, Weinberg''s classical guitar background is evident in the chords he plays, and the way he picks. Sean Colley, bassist, has an affinity for atypical note progressions and laying tongue in groove bass lines. Drummer Eric Toohey, is a consistent heavy hitter who holds back just enough to contain the flow.

"We have a commonality," Toohey says. "We''re honest with each other and with the audience. We never try to conform to anything. We just take each song where it feels it should go."

The band''s commitment to their songs, rather than any scene, allowed them to write a longing, swingy, 50''s bit for the bridge of All I Need and give Ruining Something Beautiful a 70''s war protest vibe that is at once ass-kicking and hopeful. She Says is a story that rolls over you like waves of need and discovery. Ego is a big, fat, tempo switch that mirrors the control/lack of control of our minds. The rest, well, you''ll have to listen.

JW: I don''t know what rock is anymore. Ideally, eventually, you just become yourselves.

DD: Ah, Grasshopper, you are yourselves already.

JW: You know what I mean.

DD: Yeah, I do. What sets you apart? You''re not a--

JW: We''re not a knock off of anyone, that''s not our intention. That''s not to say I don''t think we''re pioneers on the frontline of truth, or that it''s our--

DD: Manifest Destiny?

JW: Yes, our Manifest Destiny to spread our songs... Really, we''re the only band that has me, Sean and Eric in it. So if you dig what we''re laying down then that''s it. It''s just us. And we love what we do.

Sean Colley: Put it this way. We could play with Foo Fighters, Live, Jimmy Eat World and it would be a bitchin show.
