About Eve Williams
Eve Williams is a singer and songwriter from County Down in Northern Ireland who has a soulful voice and a keen interest in jazz and blues. Her voice has been liked to artists as diverse as Claire Teal, Moira Brennan and Eva Cassidy.
Eve’s ‘ever graceful voice’ spans an impressive four octaves, and she is known for the maturity of her technically unusual songwriting. One reviewer commented that her tunes stay in the listener’s head for days (see https://www.tradebit.com). In 2007, Eve received an Honourable Mention in the 14th Annual Billboard Magazine Songwriting Contest, and wrote one of the top 3 songs at the 2007 UK Songwriting Festival at Bath Spa University.
In the past Eve has been a classical singer, having trained with Bach soprano Irene Sandford and Mary Hammond, one of Cameron Mackintosh’s top vocal coaches, as well as being a member of a folk band and a jazz singer. At present she is mostly influenced by blues and the native music of her Celtic homeland. Sales of her self-titled EP, released to raise funds for the disability charity founded by her late father, have been encouraging, and she frequently performs in Belfast and beyond. She has also played at Northern Ireland’s popular Summer Madness Festival, and at venues in Israel, Toronto and Newfoundland.
