Details:
Prince Blanco is a singer and musician from London UK now based in Toronto, Canada. From his first single ''Punk Rock Rude Boys'' in 1982 to his latest CD ''Rebel Discotheque'', he is still known to many as an original ''punk rock rude boy''. Blanco, a life-long reggae music fan who came of age during the late ''70s punk rock explosion, has been performing and maintaining a transatlantic presence now for well over ten years

Blanco has had the privilege of sharing the stage with such artists as Michael Rose (Black Uhuru), Jazz Jamaica, The Skatalites, Ari Up (The Slits) and has worked on projects with Willi Williams and UK dub wizard Mad Professor. He has been a member of dub-pop group Boogiewall Soundsystem and is currently rolling with the Toronto-based Dub Collective.

His recent releases include his tribute to the classic reggae era, Prince Blanco & The Rocksteady All-Stars (MojoBrandMusic 2006) and Boogiewall Soundsystem''s Super My Own Band (OhmGrown/Universal 2005).

Rebel Discotheque will be released May 2008.

Prince Blanco''s live performance highlights include The Vermont International Reggae Festival (US), Lambeth Community Day Out (UK), Caribana (Canada), and a memorable performance alongside legendary reggae trombonist Vin Gordon in Jamaica.

His music has been featured on Brinsley Forde''s Lively Up Yourself and Dub Bashment as well as Don Letts'' Culture Clash Radio, both on BBC 6 Radio. Blanco has also received recent radio play in Canada, Japan, France and South America.

"Rebel Discotheque is here to save our sorry souls with concise slices of dubby perfection. Addictive, dancy, fun…strong rebel music for the future. I love it and so should you!"
Zoe Street Howe - Paranoimia (RTI FM/Sky Channel, London UK)

"Prince Blanco''s original rudeboy punk rock style is perfectly captured on his new CD. Stand out tracks are the punk influenced ''Play Rebel Music'' and the dancehall inspired ''Skanking''."
Version Xcursion(CKLN 88.1 FM, Toronto Canada)

"Prince Blanco is real ole school reggae - no guns, no bombs, no aggro - the kind of stuff we had while sporting afros!"
Mad Professor (Ariwa Sounds, UK)

"With his vocal style falling somewhere between Horace Andy''s falsetto and Ali Campbell''s (UB40) bright R&B croon, Blanco brings just enough pop sensibility to draw the lovers in and keep the rude boys skanking....highly recommended!"
