About the CD:

Dreaming Tall: Stories for Growing Girls is an award-winning CD which won a Parents’ Choice Gold Award in the spring of 2007. It contains five stories from around the world featuring strong girls and women, with original music and sound effects. It is good for ages 6 to 12, though everybody will enjoy listening to these stories.

What the media are saying about this CD:

“As a mother of a daughter and as a storyteller, I was curious to see what stories Stéphanie Bénéteau chose for this CD. What guiding messages, reassuring words, support and wisdom would she choose, and in which form. The five stories do not disappoint. (…)The stories are solid, the embedded messages important ones, and Bénéteau’s telling brings the whole to life. Her voice is clear and lovely to listen to and she speaks with polish and expression.(…) The editing on this recording is excellent and the music and sound effects are restrained in volume and strategically placed to add to the listening enjoyment.”

“Local storyteller Stephanie Bénéteau’s new CD offers five wonderful stories with female protagonists, based on tales from around the world. The bilingual storyteller put the collection together because the stories she remembers loving from her own childhood had no girls in them. And though girls and women are predominant, the stories are universal and will appeal to both sexes. The CD is aimed
at 5- to 12-year-olds, but my 3 1/2 —year-old also requests them over and over again, which comes as no surprise, given Bénéteau’s riveting storytelling style and interesting choice of tales.”
